got her start at an early age. By age 4, she was painting ceramics, by age 7 she was working at the wheel. She taught pottery at age 12, and won her first National Award in her teens. She has taught art for many years in various school settings.
Jan has since moved to hand-built pottery in porcelain, and also incorporates techniques found in Majolica and Chinese porcelain and painting.
"I try to have fun in the studio, which means I am challenging myself constantly. The fun often comes about in very whimsical ways."
